Deval Patrick, Governor of Massachusetts, will join the festivities at the 30th Annual Dominican Festival on Sunday, August 15, 2010. Gov. Patrick will march at the traditional Dominican Parade that features typical floats, performers in traditional outfits, and local residents' vehicles making up the enthusiastic procession that will head up Franklin Park in the middle of music, dancing and colorful costumes.

La Semana Cultural de Nueva Inglaterra (New England Cultural Week) and the planning committee of the Dominican Festival are joining forces to enhance the festivities during La Semana Cultural that culminates with a colorful parade leading to the grand Dominican Festival at Franklin Park.This year's festival and the cultural week celebrations are dedicated to encourage cultural pride and to refresh the younger generation's knowledge of the history of their origin.
